The Marcus Corporation, Marcus Hotels, Inc., Marcus Theatres Corporation, and their respective subsidiaries and affiliates (“Marcus”) have created this policy to describe their policies regarding their collection of information from consumers and employment applicants, their use of such information, and their privacy practices with respect to same. In order to make informed decisions regarding your personal information, Marcus strongly urges you to review this policy completely and carefully. 


This privacy policy applies to information collected by Marcus through your disclosure of personal information on the Marcus Careers’ website located at “Website”). While your acceptance of this policy is voluntary, your continued use of the Website constitutes your acceptance of this policy and any other applicable terms.


How Marcus Collects and Uses Data.  You may generally use the Website without disclosing personally identifiable information. However, use of certain services and features on the Website may require you to submit personally identifiable information.


When you visit the Website, Marcus automatically collects data on your usage of the Website and your online behavior, e.g., previous websites you visited, your computer’s web browser, operating system, IP address, and how you navigate and interact with the Website. Marcus collects this information on an anonymous basis. In the event you are selected for an interview or hired for a position, Marcus may use such information, and may provide such information to third parties, in connection with other human resource functions, such as background checks and organization analysis and design (OAD) surveys. It also allows Marcus to better understand its applicants. Further, Marcus may share this information on an aggregate, non-identifiable basis with third parties, such as industry data sharing services.


Marcus may also collect information from you, depending on how you engage with Marcus. For example, Marcus may collect information from you if you communicate with us through email or participate in online surveys. These services may require you to provide your email address, your name, and comments. This information is used in order to respond to you and address the feedback or request that you provided. 


Marcus takes reasonable measures and implements appropriate safeguards to protect your personal information. However, by agreeing to this policy, you acknowledge that transmission of information over the Internet is, inherently, not secure. Security breaches cannot be prevented entirely, and by continuing to use the Website and related applications, you accept the risk that a security breach may occur. For that reason, Marcus asks that you do not send your social security or credit card numbers to us through an unsecured email.


Third Parties.  Marcus uses Google Analytics to collect information about your use of the Website, your navigation to the Website, the time and date of you visited the Website, and your IP address, all as described above. Cookies. The Website does not utilize cookies. 


Website Use By Children Under 13 Years of Age.  Marcus does not specifically target the Website and its applications to children under thirteen (13) years old. If you are under the age of thirteen (13), you should only use the Website and applications under the supervision of a parent or guardian. 


Policy Changes.  Marcus reserves the right to change this policy at any time without notice.  You are responsible for keeping apprised of the current policy; thus, Marcus encourages you to check the policy periodically. Any changes or updates will be effective for the Website immediately upon the posting of the revised policy to such Website. Your continued use of the Website constitutes your acceptance of any revised policy. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Marcus will endeavor to provide notice of any material changes to this policy by posting notice on the Website.


Disclosures.  Marcus may be required to share personal information with law enforcement or government agencies as a result of a court order, subpoena, or as otherwise required by law.  Additionally, Marcus may disclose your information as part of a planned or potential corporate sale, merger, reorganization, consolidation, or similar events. Your information will be treated as an asset and be transferred to the purchaser as part of a sale or other transaction. 


Opting Out.  You are never obligated to provide Marcus with any personal information. At any time, if you would like to cease receiving communications from Marcus or limit Marcus’s ability to share your information with third parties, you may “opt out.”  You may unsubscribe to all communications from Marcus by filling out an unsubscribe form located on the Website, sending an email or calling 414.905.1000.
